Mediation & Arbitration

A neutral, credentialed path to resolution — without the time, cost, or uncertainty of a full trial.

In addition to his litigation practice, Hans Peter Haahr serves as a neutral mediator and arbitrator in insurance, property damage, commercial, real estate, and HOA/condominium association disputes. As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator with decades of complex civil litigation experience in state and federal court, Hans brings a uniquely practical perspective to the role of neutral — understanding the legal and factual issues at stake from both sides of the table.

Not every dispute needs to go to trial. Haahr Law Group offers mediation and arbitration services as a neutral third party, helping parties resolve disputes efficiently — without the time, cost, and uncertainty of prolonged litigation.

What We Offer

Mediation

A structured, confidential negotiation process where we help both sides work toward a mutually acceptable resolution. Mediation is often faster, less expensive, and less adversarial than litigation, and gives both parties more control over the outcome than a judge or jury would.

In mediation, a neutral third party helps both sides reach a voluntary agreement — without a judge making the final call. It’s confidential, flexible, and often resolves disputes in days rather than months or years.

Florida law requires mediation in many civil cases before trial, but many clients choose it long before litigation becomes necessary. We can represent you as a party in mediation or serve as a certified Florida mediator to help other parties resolve their conflict.

  • Confidential process — what’s said in mediation stays there
  • You control the outcome, not a judge or arbitrator
  • Typically faster and less expensive than litigation
  • Agreements are enforceable under Florida law

Arbitration

A more formal alternative to a courtroom trial, where we serve as a neutral decision-maker and issue a binding or non-binding ruling based on the evidence and arguments presented, depending on the parties’ agreement.

Arbitration is a more structured process where a neutral arbitrator — or a panel — hears both sides and issues a binding decision. It’s often required under contracts and is common in commercial, employment, and consumer disputes.

We help clients navigate mandatory arbitration clauses, prepare and present their case before an arbitrator, and — when appropriate — challenge or enforce arbitration awards in Florida courts.

  • Binding decisions that hold up in court
  • Private process — no public record
  • More streamlined than full litigation
